Maria Adele is Research Director for IDC Financial Insights European research team and is responsible for the IDC Financial Insights Corporate Banking Digital Transformation Strategies program.  She has strong competencies in financial services strategy, cybersecurity, and regulatory evolution. She has been living and working in three different countries (Germany, Belgium, and Italy) and she speaks 5 languages. She is an expert in B2B business strategy, with significant experience in Financial Services, System Integration, and Consulting.

Her core research covers Corporate and Retail Banking. She investigates the challenges and opportunities related to the future evolution of the Banking space, the banking ecosystems, and the changing paradigm of all highly interconnected stakeholders. She is addressing the fast-paced changes of the banking landscape, at a time when Central Banks are looking into Digital Currencies, and Consumers are looking for instant satisfaction of their individual specific needs through a multichannel on the move payment processing. She is also looking into the regulatory evolution addressing the risks and the governance issues of open banking.

Maria Adele's focus is on possible ways to delight the customers, leveraging the huge possibilities offered by innovative technological solutions, (e.g., AI, ML, Cloud and Hybrid infrastructures, XaaS), to enhance Corporate and Retail banking services thereby paving the way to the future of customer experiences based upon open banking and digital transformation.

Maria Adele has 20 years of international experience in the banking industry and 7+ years of experience in management consultancy providing services to major financial Institutions.  She started her career with JP Morgan and Euroclear in Brussels gaining experience in Global Transaction Banking and in securities clearing and settlement. Moving back to Italy, she has been working with SIA, the inter-banking service provider and system integrator, and TAS group, the banking software vendor. Always focusing on financial sector, she has been working in consulting with NIKE Group, the RegTech, and with Deloitte Risk Advisory. Speaker and moderator at industry conferences such as EBAday, SIBOS, Salone dei Pagamenti.
